‘Leap’ featured film at Movies Under the Stars

Once a month, residents and visitors can bring a beach chair or blanket to Queens’ MarketPlace’s Coronation Pavilion in Waikoloa Resort for a free outdoor movie. This month’s feature, “Leap,” will begin at 6:30 p.m. Saturday.

HPA presents ‘Alice: A Wonderland Musical’

Up is down and right is wrong in Lewis Carroll’s “Alice in Wonderland.” Hawaii Preparatory Academy’s Ka Makani Players will present a musical adaptation of Carroll’s famous work with “Alice: A Wonderland Musical” at 7 p.m. this Thursday through Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at Gates Performing Arts Center on the Upper Campus.

ER entrance relocated

Patients visiting the emergency room at North Hawaii Community Hospital now through early 2020 must enter from the front entrance. Signage is placed throughout the campus to help redirect visitors. All parking near the front entrance is now designated for patients and visitors only. Visitors to the Lucy Henriques building can continue to enter through that building.

Pololu Lookout issues focus of public meeting

Congestion continues to be a problem at Pololu Valley Lookout in North Kohala. A public meeting to discuss possible solutions will be held at 5:30 p.m. this Wednesday at the Kohala High and Elementary School cafeteria.

Donations needed for Operation Christmas boxes

To bless children in other countries this holiday, Solid Rock North church is once again spearheading Operation Christmas Child donations. Boxes are filled with useful items such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, hair brushes, socks, plastic cups, crayons and pencils, as well as small toys like cars, glow bracelets, small stuffed animals, dolls and books.

Special Olympics Big Island getting in the Christmas spirit

Special Olympics Big Island is selling $5 All You Can Eat Ice Cream tickets in advance for use at the Hilton Waikoloa’s Ohana Christmas Craft Festival later this month. They can be purchased by calling Special Olympics West Hawaii at 756-2186. Tickets can be gifts for business employees or coaches to treat their athletes. Those sold will benefit Special Olympics Big Island and other Hawaii Island charities.
