Movie review: Search for ‘Loneliest Whale’ offers lessons for internet age

“The Loneliest Whale: The Search for 52” is not your average nature documentary. In the hands of documentarian Joshua Zeman, who has tackled urban legends and serial killers in his work (“Cropsey,” “The Killing Season”), this film is a nature mystery, an unanswered question that needs to be solved. Pre-pandemic, both JP Sears and Pauly Shore both sold out the nearly 500-seat venue and Piff the Magic Dragon, a popular Vegas comedian, was scheduled to perform in 2020. These shows also bring out a younger crowd (20s to 40s) that probably wouldn’t come to a Robert Cazimero concert.

Their stellar performance last Saturday at Mauna Kea Beach Hotel had the crowd on their feet cheering “Chee hoo!” while dancing and singing along to practically every song.

Unplugged: Something new for Bottle of Blue

Since 2013, Bottle of Blue has been faithfully paying their musical dues on Kona’s club circuit. And one highly important element has remained constant in the band: they offer some of the best classic rock and blues played on the island.
