Like many horrors before it, bad reviews didn’t scare off moviegoers from buying tickets for ” The Nun II.” The sequel to the 2018 hit, released in 3,728 theaters by Warner Bros., topped the box office in its first weekend in North American theaters earning an estimated $32.6 million, the studio said Sunday.

Maui Love, a benefit concert for Maui to happen Sunday in Kona

A fundraiser for Maui Survivors of the wildfires will take place this Sunday from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. at Tony Honda Kona in Kailua Kona. 100% of donations and proceeds from the concert will go directly to Maui families displaced by the fires three weeks ago. The event will feature live music by award-winning artists, including Anuhea, Brother Noland, Kenny T and many more. Food trucks and craft vendors will also be on-site. As a companion event to the George Nuku sculpture residency in Volcano, pianist Meng-Chieh Liu explores night music of Beethoven, Chopin, Debussy, Rachmaninov, and Szymanowski. Gustav Highstein joins him for Schumann’s Romances for oboe and piano.
