Hawaii Prep advances to D-II semifinals

Hawaii Prep swept Honokaa in a BIIF D-II Quarterfinal contest Monday night in Waimea. Ka Makani defeated the Dragons 25-10, 25-13, 25-17 to secure a spot in the semifinals at Pahoa. Start time for Wednesday’s contest is scheduled for 5 p.m.

Free mountain bike clinic a success

The Saturday, Nov. 20 free Mountain Bike Clinic in Waimea turned out to be a huge success, as 30 participants were treated to beautiful, sunny skies during a three-hour bike handling and safety skills class held by mountain bike gurus, Grant Matsushige and Grant Miller.

Konawaena’s lead back was quick to spread the credit, recognizing his offensive linemen for creating space.
