Bail denied for man accused of kidnapping, sex assault of teen

A 52-year-old Hilo man who pleaded not guilty to a host of charges filed in connection with the alleged Sept. 16 abduction and ensuing crimes committed against a 15-year-old Kona girl has been denied bail and ordered to undergo a psychiatric evaluation.

Armed robbery suspect indicted

A 27-year-old Kona man was indicted Wednesday on two dozen charges stemming from an alleged armed robbery that was followed by a car crash and the man reportedly shooting at a police officer.
