Kuchar and English finished at 34-under 182, playing their last 28 holes at Tiburon in 25 under. They opened with a 64 on Friday in modified alternate-shot play and had a 60 on Saturday in better ball.
The duo beat Retief Goosen and Fredrik Jacobsen by seven strokes, matching the tournament record for margin of victory set by Curtis Strange and Mark O’Meara in 1989 in the inaugural event.
Kuchar and English, who replaced the injured Brandt Snedeker in the field, each earned $385,000.
Goosen and Jacobsen closed with a 61.
Lee Westwood and Ian Poulter had a 59 to finish third at 26 under.
Garcia wins in Thailand
CHONBURI, Thailand — Sergio Garcia won the Thailand Golf Championship on Sunday for his first victory in a year, closing with a 4-under 68 to beat Henrik Stenson by four strokes.
Garcia had a 22-under 266 total at Amata Spring for his fourth career Asian Tour title. The 33-year-old Spaniard won for the first time since taking the Asian Tour’s Johor Open in Malaysia on Dec. 16, 2012.
Notre Dame claims men’s soccer title
CHESTER, Pa. — Andrew O’Malley and Leon Brown led Notre Dame to its first NCAA men’s soccer title, scoring in the Fighting Irish’s 2-1 victory over Maryland on Sunday at PPL Park.
Notre Dame finished the season 17-1-6 to give 68-year-old coach Bobby Clark his first title in 27 years of coaching at Dartmouth, Stanford and Notre Dame.
Patrick Mullins, the nation’s leading scorer, scored for Maryland (17-4-5). The Terrapins were trying to win their fourth national championship and third under coach Sasho Cirovski.
Harrison Shipp, a finalist for the MAC Hermann Trophy as the nation’s best player, set up O’Malley’s winning goal with a perfectly placed free kick in the 60th minute. O’Malley leaped for Shipp’s kick and directed a header past goalkeeper Zack Steffen’s outstretched arms.
Brown tied it at 1 in the 40th minute with a tough-angle shot. He entered the game as a reserve when Vince Cicciarelli was forced to leave with an injury in the 10th minute.
Mullins, Maryland’s own Hermann Trophy finalist, opened the scoring for the Terrapins in the 35th minute.
Labor court stops work at World Cup stadium
SAO PAULO — A labor court has halted construction in part of the World Cup stadium where a man fell 115 feet (35 meters) to his death while working on a roofing structure in the jungle city of Manaus, further delaying the venue that will host England vs. Italy and three other matches next June.
The decision was announced Sunday after public prosecutors requested the immediate interruption of work in all areas where laborers need to be high above the ground. Work will only restart after constructors show that all safety measures are in place at the Arena Amazonia, which will also host United States vs. Portugal.
The Manaus court said constructors will be fined a daily amount if they don’t abide to the decision. The press office for constructor Andrade Gutierrez said the company would not comment until today.

US men’s curling team sweeps to Sochi
FUESSEN, Germany — The United States qualified for the men’s curling tournament at the Sochi Olympics with an 8-5 playoff victory over the Czech Republic on Sunday.
The Americans, skipped by John Shuster, seized the advantage in the eighth end by scoring five points for a 7-3 lead.
The Czechs pulled two back in the ninth, but Shuster’s team of third Jeff Isaacson, second Jared Zezel and lead John Landsteiner ended with another point to secure the last Olympic berth on offer.
The Americans, coached by Tim Muller with Craig Brown at alternate, had kept their qualification hopes alive with a 7-5 win over South Korea in Saturday’s tiebreaker.
