CrossFit AllStar will host the Big Island’s first open invitation CrossFit competition Nov. 10. More than 80 competitors are coming from as far away as Flagstaff, Ariz., California and Oahu to compete with athletes from Hawaii Island.
The AllStar Round-Up is being organized by CrossFit AllStar owner K.C. Stallsmith and husband, Josh Stallsmith. K.C. Stallsmith has been coaching CrossFit for more than three years and recently her gym, CrossFit AllStar in Waimea, celebrated its one year anniversary.
In addition to the adult competition, her CrossFit Kids program will hold its “1 Mo’ Rep-A-Thon.” The youths will be completing 100 reps of various CrossFit elements, such as push-ups, squats, jumps and a rope climb, in order to raise money for the Michael Morris Memorial Fund, which promotes stewardship of Hawaii’s marine environment.
The free admission event will take place at CrossFit AllStar in Waimea, which is across the street from HPM, behind the water store, next to Tutu’s House, off Mamalahoa Highway. The competition begins at 9 a.m. and will run until 7 p.m. The youth event is from noon to 12:30 p.m.
