Richard Dale Buffington, 80, of Kailua-Kona, died Sept. 18 at Nakamaru Hale in Holualoa. Born May 26, 1932, in Bradford, Pa., he was a retired mechanical engineer for the Boeing Co. and a member of the Kona Yacht Club and Kona Bridge Club and a Coast Guard volunteer.
Private services were held.
He is survived by wife, Christine Buffington, of Kailua-Kona; hanai daughters, Bebe and Lily Buffington, both of Kailua-Kona.
