The Brain Injury Support group meets from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hawaiian Rehab Services, just mauka of the Hawaii Community Federal Credit Union on Hualalai Road.
Brain injury survivor David Mahoney will discuss his injury, his recovery process and continued rehabilitation issues.
Brain injury, stroke or other neurotrauma survivors, families and caregivers, interested professionals and the public are invited.

Seniors group fetes members’ birthdays
The Kailua-Kona Seniors will meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Hale Halawai. Members will celebrate June birthdays and honor their fathers.

American Legion Post 20 meets Wednesday
The American Legion Post 20 meets Wednesday at Teshima’s Restaurant in Honalo. A 7 p.m. meeting and dinner follows the 6:30 time of fellowship. All veterans are invited to attend. Any member or veteran requiring transportation to the meeting can call David at the number below.
The installation of officers for 2013 is scheduled, but the ceremony may be postponed, according to organizers. Also, an update on the post’s assistance with a medevac group in Afghanistan is planned during the meeting.

Women cancer patients in active treatment are invited to learn beauty techniques at a free program planned from 1 to 4 p.m. Thursday in the Radiation Oncology conference foom at Kona Community Hospital. “Look Good, Feel Better” offers help with the appearance-related side-effects of radiation and chemotherapy.
