Certified Clinical Thermographer Lisa Kalison will discuss the benefits of thermal imaging to capture early, subtle changes in breast tissue and other areas before it becomes diseased or cancerous at two “Natural Breast Health for Life and Safe Breast Screening” events.
Kalison will make her presentation at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Dragonfly Ranch in Captain Cook and again at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Waiaka Event Salon in Waimea.
She will give thermographic screenings at the Dragonfly Ranch Wednesday and May 31 and at the Waiaka Event Salon Tuesday and June 1.

County offers voter education, registration
The County of Hawaii Elections will offer voter education and voter registration services from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the County Council conference room A at the West Hawaii Civic Center; June 5 in the Ka‘u High School cafeteria; and June 13 in the Waikoloa Elementary School cafeteria.
Topics will include potential changes to polling places as a result of the reapportionment process; deadlines for voter registration, absentee voting and candidate filing; and election day recruitment needs and training dates. Voter registration and absentee ballot registration will also take place.

Case to speak at Rotary Club of Kona
Ed Case will speak at the Rotary Club of Kona’s noon May 31 meeting held in the Paddler Room at King Kamehameha’s Kona Beach Hotel. The cost is $22 with lunch or $10 without. Case will speak about his senatorial campaign.

HSPLS consolidating
its patron database
The Hawaii State Public Library System’s patron database will undergo a purge of inactive accounts June 1. Inactive accounts are those with expired library cards and no borrowed library material in the past three years, no outstanding items, charges or fees. HSPLS will also remove the accounts of card holders no longer residing in Hawaii.
Those who only use their library cards to access the library’s Internet stations or subscription databases may notice their accounts have been purged, as well.
A patron may reactivate a purged account, free-of-charge, by completing a new library card application form and presenting it with his card and valid identification. The database cleanup will not affect active library patrons.
