Harumi Yoshimoto, 88, of Hilo, died April 4 at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center. Born June 23, 1923, in Kainaule, Onomea, she was retired from Pomare/Hilo Hattie, member of New Hope Christian Fellowship Hilo and RSVP at Hilo Medical Center.
Friends may call at 3 p.m. April 28 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 4 p.m. service. Urn committal service at 9 a.m. April 30 at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 1. Family requests casual attire be worn and flowers omitted.
She is survived by daughter, Carol Yoshimoto, of Hilo; son, Nelson (Sharon) Yoshimoto, of Algonquin, Ill.; brothers, Minoru (Gladys) Kuboyama, Sadao (Kay) Kuboyama, both of Honolulu, Patrick (Sandra) Kuboyama, of Torrance, Calif.; three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Kathleen “Kathy” Helen Kehaulani Rosehill, 60, of Hilo, died April 8 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, she was a health unit clerk at Hilo Medical Center.

John “Joey” N. Buentipo, 17, of Keaau, died April 7 at Hilo Medical Center. Born Oct. 20, 1994, in Hilo, he was a Keaau High School student and member of Pahoa Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Paul Lurbin Caplener Jr., 48, of Hilo, died April 18 at Hilo Medical Center. Born May 31, 1963, in Honolulu, he was a former member of Kalanianaole Athletic Club Yankees in Honolulu and coach of the Wanderers and Orioles baseball teams and Hilo High School girls softball team.

Born Oct. 16, 1937, in Wahiawa, he was a retired meteorological technician for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration — National Weather Service, member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo and St. Theresa Church and Air Force veteran.

Andrew “Andy” Apau San Akina Kahili, 78, of Hilo, died April 19 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was formally a machinist with Hilo Iron Works, factory superintendent with Hilo Coast Processing Mill, substitute janitor with Chiefess Kapiolani School, security officer with Aloha Security, former member of numerous bowling leagues and Hawaii Ballroom Dance Association.

Edwin “Fat Eddie” F. Carreira, 67, of Hilo, died April 12 at Hilo Medical Center. Born Oct. 10, 1944, in Honolulu, he was a steward for the State and County of Hawaii, member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo, Army National Guard Vietnam War veteran and member of numerous motorcycle clubs.

John Haward Davy Jr., 66, of Allyn, Wash., died March 14 at Kona Community Hospital. Born July 2, 1945, in Cincinnati, he was a retired firefighter for the Bremerton Fire Department, a paddler for the Kai Opua and Kai E Hitu Canoe clubs, former triathlete and Navy veteran.
