LAS VEGAS — Authorities in Las Vegas said Thursday that a mother may face attempted murder charges after she apparently threw her baby, her toddler and herself out a second-story window.
Police Officer Larry Hadfield said the woman in her 30s and the children, both younger than 2, were taken to University Medical Center in critical condition with apparent head injuries. Their names weren’t immediately made public.
Police said they responded a little before 6 a.m. to a 911 call from the home in a middle-class northeast Las Vegas neighborhood.
Police Lt. Dan McGrath told KLAS-TV (https://bit.ly/1v6K39Z ) the call came after another family member forced open the door in the room with the window, and saw the woman and children on the ground outside.
Neighbor Maria Cortes described the family as an apparently happy couple with three children. Cortes said she didn’t know them well but said hello from time to time.
