Livestock auctioned Sept. 16 in Waimea
Parker Ranch’s 11th annual livestock auction will be Sept. 16. The auction, featuring cattle breeding stock, retired working and young horses, will be at the Parker Ranch Rodeo Arena with previews at 10 a.m. and auctions beginning at noon.
A highlight of this year’s auction will be the sale of “Son of Barry,” a quarterhorse stallion who is the grandson of renowned stallion “Dash for Cash.”
Among the more than 50 animals for sale are 1- to 2-year-old quality bulls, heifers and bred cows. Additionally, more than a dozen horses, both mares and geldings, along with halter-broke 2-year-olds will be auctioned. The range of horses for sale means that those looking for a gentle ride or those who are experienced or looking for a good working horse can find an exceptional animal. Parker Ranch’s horse breeding program has long been recognized as one of the finest in the industry.
Lunch will be available for purchase prior to the live auction.
The event is free and open to the public. Even those not purchasing livestock are encouraged and welcomed to come and have lunch and watch the action as interested parties bid on the animals.
For more information call 885-7311 or log on to www.parkerranch.com for a complete list of animals.
