Wellness fair coming to Waimea
The public is invited to learn about Hawaiian healing practices and meet spiritual leaders during the first Wellness With Aloha Cultural and Healing Festival from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 12 in Waimea Park.
The free festival brings cultural practitioners as Haleaka Iolani Pule Dooley, Kumulomi Dane Silva, Nahoku and Kaleiiliahi Kamakawiwoole, Keahi Hanakahi, M. Kalani Souza, Maxima Forslund and others together in an open, informal and festive atmosphere for personal healing sessions and talking story. Teachings by Dooley and Souza on the sacred way of living hooponopono, plus live music and hula performances complete the day and celebrate the soul.
