Stephens can issue marriage licenses
Until recently, couples looking to get married in Kona were mostly dependent upon the operating hours of the governor’s office at Kuakini Towers to obtain a marriage license. After receiving training from the state Department of Health in Honolulu, Geri F. Stephens, of ATR Properties Inc., is now a commissioned marriage license agent for the state and can issue marriage licenses to couples six days a week.
“With the trend of government offices limiting their operating hours, I recognized a need for couples to have easier access for getting their marriage license,” Stephens said. “Being in the vacation rental business, I am frequently asked about how and where to get marriage licenses. It just seemed like a natural expansion of our client services.”
