West side Hawaii Little League meeting
The annual membership meeting and Board of Directors Election for 2018 West Side Hawaii Little League Baseball Season will take place Sept. 30 at 8 p.m. at Umekes Restaurant.
Members include any volunteer who has completed a background check for the 2017 season and completed an entire season with a team. All volunteer Board Of Directors positions are available for nomination from the members list.
Tante’s Kokua Golf Tournament and Food Fest
The inaugural Tante’s Kokua Golf Tournament and Food Fest will be held on Oct. 7 with a shot gun start at 8 a.m. at the Kona Country Club.
Entry fee is $120 per player and includes golf, entry to Food Fest and lots of prizes.
Proceeds will go to fund the foundation’s scholarship program and provide financial assistance to intellectually gifted and talented students.
There will be a million dollar hole-in-one challenge, sponsored by Dr. Genio, and a hole-in-one car giveaway sponsored by Big Island Honda. There will also be a drawings for a round trip ticket to the Philippines courtesy of Philippines Airlines and much more.

Free racewalking clinics will be held at Old Airport Park’s Makaeo Walking Path on Oct. 7 at 9 a.m. The lessons are provided by Stan Chraminski. For more information email stanski@twc.com.
BISA holding benefit golf tournament
Big Island Sports Academy will host the Callenge at the Big Island Country Club, a benefit golf tournament on Friday, Nov. 10. Proceeds will go to support sports career educational opportunities for boys and girls on the Big Island, which includes annual scholarships, career exploration camps, internships and workshops.
The tournament will have an 8 a.m. shotgun start with a $150 per person entry fee. Sponsorship opporunities are also available.
