Boyson Brown Sr.
Boyson Kaimilani Brown Sr., 69, of Hilo died Dec. 1, 2013. He was a professional entertainer and Army veteran.

He is survived by wife, Kalei Brown of Hilo; sons, William (Darla) Brown of Hilo, Boyson Brown Jr. of Honolulu; daughter, Ashley (Thomas) Bermudes of Washington state; brother, Elson (Lyn) Brown of Hilo; hanai brother, Larry (Charlie) Nakama of Mililani, Oahu; sister, Bunette (Stanley) Yurong of Hilo; numerous stepchildren, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Rick Brown
Rick Clayton Brown, 50, of Kailua-Kona died Nov. 22, 2013, at Kona Community Hospital. Born Dec. 7, 1962, in Burbank, Calif., he was a finish carpenter, former drummer with the group Crystal Image and an artist.
Friends may call at 10:30 a.m. Dec. 16 at Mokuaikaua Church in Kailua-Kona for a 12:30 p.m. service. Family requests casual attire be worn.
He is survived by wife, Emi Brown of Kailua-Kona; mother, Judy (Richard) Harrison of Kailua-Kona; brothers, Scott (Diane) Brown of Ramona, Calif., Ronald Brown of Henderson, Nev., Michael Brown of Brigantine, N.J.; sister, Shari (Scott) Lindenberg of Kailua-Kona; numerous nieces and nephews.

Takashi Miki
Takashi “Tak” Miki, 89, of Pahala died Nov. 21, 2013, at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center. Born in Kawainui, he was a retired warehouse floorman for the former Ka‘u Sugar Co. and member of the Pahala Hongwanji Mission.
Private services were held. He is survived by wife, Lillian Miki of Pahala; brothers, Tadashi (Asako) Miki and Ernest (Kay) Miki, both of Honolulu, Lawrence Miki of Hilo; sisters, Sadame Ota of Pahala, Tsukimi (Mitsuo) Murashige and Michie Kuwaye, both of Hilo, Carol (Donald) Fujii of Wailuku, Maui; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Kikuye Sasaki
Kikuye “K” Sasaki, 93, of Kalaoa died Nov. 28, 2013, at her home. Born Feb. 13, 1920, in Honolulu, she was the former proprietress of Harold’s Union Service in Kainaliu and member of Kona Hongwanji and Kamalumalu Kumiai.
Private services were held. Family requests no flowers or monetary offerings.
She is survived by sons, Wayne (Lynne) Sasaki of Kalaoa, Ronald (Avis) Sasaki of Ewa Beach, Oahu, Earl (Barbara) Sasaki of Kona Palisades; daughter, Laura (Gary) Kirihara of Kealakekua; sister, Fujiko (Chosei) Takue of Okinawa; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Alfred Berdon
Alfred Berdon, 84, of Waimea died Nov. 14, 2013, at his residence. Born in North Kohala, he was a retired boat builder.

He is survived by wife, Bernice Berdon of Waimea; son, Alfred (Rochelle) Berdon Jr. of Waimea; daughters, Leo Akau, Charmaine Phillips and Corinne (Matthew) Weller, all of Waimea, Valerie Berdon of Kohala; brothers, George (Sonja) Berdon of Ocean View, Ronald (Emma) Berdon of Kona, Kenneth (Leah) Demaya of Waimea; sisters, Helen Kauhi of Hilo, Lorraine Kaono and Rose (Edward) Spencer, both of Waimea, Leonora (Thomas) Wright of Arizona; 17 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
