From 9 a.m.–4 p.m. this Friday, residents can visit the Honokaa farm for presentations and demonstrations by Hawaiian cultural practitioners and farmers. They will include “Hoihi and Respect” with Ruth Aloua and “Kalo varieties and traditional planting methods” with Isaac Kaiana Runnels.
A hands-on agroforestry training will be offered in the afternoon with Dave Sansone, The Kohala Center’s agricultural production specialist. This educational event is free of charge, sponsored by Kamehameha Schools High School Sustainable Agriculture Program.
