Kahakai Elementary School’s Summer Enrichment Program
Kahakai Elementary School in Kailua-Kona will be having a Summer Enrichment Program June 13 through July 7. Offering both academics and enrichment classes, the focus this year, however, is an early intervention program for registered kindergarten children for the 2017-2018 school year.
Children will be in a classroom setting with kindergarten teachers, and will be practicing early learning skills through hands on activities. It will run daily Monday through Friday from 8-11 a.m. with completion ceremony/program on July 7.

Equestrian Center introduces keiki, horses
Horseplay Equestrian Center offers weekly day camps beginning June 13 for beginning and intermediate riders. Horseplay camps introduce children to correct riding skills and standardized horsemanship based on national standards for all disciplines.
Campers with previous instruction will advance their skills in various riding disciplines.
Each day includes a mounted riding lesson with individual and group instruction. Games, crafts, discussion groups, barn chores and other hands-on activities fill the day.

Get strong, get active
Hawaii Fitness Academy LLC will be offering athletic performance and fitness combine-style trainings at a variety of locations in and around Kona. Training sessions will improve speed, quickness, agility, reaction time, and athleticism as well as develop athletic mindset and overall awareness.
Private individual attention and group training sessions are being offered from 30 minutes to 1 hour on Wednesday and Friday mornings throughout the summer break. Cost will range from $5 to $50 per participant according to size of group.

APAC offers keiki summer acting workshop
Aloha Performing Arts Company will offer a children’s acting workshop at the Aloha Theatre in Kainaliu entitled “Keiki Intro to Theatre” Monday through Friday, July 24-28, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. each day. The instructor is Emma Lou, a drama teacher, actress, and poet, who has recently relocated to Kona.
Tuition is $125 per student for 15 hours of instruction from a theater professional, and includes all materials. Sibling discounts available. Enrollment is limited, so early registration is recommended. Students can be enrolled online at apachawaii.org, or call 322-9924.
Summer School Offered
Kuleana Education is offering seven weekly sessions of summer school starting June 12 through July 28. Camps will be held on our campus at 75-167 F Hualalai Road # B in Kona.

Summer Sailing Adventure offered
Big Island Sailing Foundation offers four one-week sailing camps of fun, safe, learning activities this summer.
There will be two dinghy/keelboat sailing weeks for teens, sailing out of Kona Sailing Club at Honokohau Harbor. Novice Teens and intermediate sailors over 11 are welcome to join the June 26-30 and July 10-14 sessions.
Beginning dinghy sailing and beach fun for 8-12 year-olds will be at Keauhou Bay. One week sessions run July 17-21 and a second session for young sailors runs July 24-28.
Camps run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Fee: $170 from new sailors, $150 for returning sailors. Scholarships are available.
