Kyle Woods, financial advisor with Anderson Wealth Planning, will offer a free retirement planning seminar at 5 p.m. Thursday at Anderson Wealth Planning, 75-1000 Henry St. Suite 200.
The class will answer questions such as, Am I ready to retire? How can I make sure my money lasts throughout my retirement? What can I do with current or past 401k plans?
The seminar will last until all questions are answered. Refreshments will be served.

VFW schedule announced
VFW Post 12122 behind Kona Locksmith off Kaiwi Street will host several events this week.
The Activities Committee will meet at 10:30 a.m. today. The auxiliary will host the Big Island Veteran’s Court mentors and others interested in the program from 1-3 p.m. today. The Command Sergeant Major from Pohakuloa Training Area will be the speaker.
Onion burgers will be served with salad and dessert for $5 beginning at 5 p.m. Friday. The public is welcome.
The auxiliary will serve teriyaki lunch plates in the Kailua-Kona KTA parking lot from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Cost is $10.
The third annual Play with a Vet golf tournament is May 20 at Kona Country Club. Registration is at 7 a.m. with an 8 a.m. shotgun start. Cost is $110, which includes green fee and cart with lunch and prizes following the tournament at Post 12122. The event chairperson is Pat Pastor, 990-3841.

Hui Laulima meets
West Hawaii Hui Laulima will meet from 10:30 a.m. to noon Friday at The Salvation Army, 75-223 Kalani St., Kailua-Kona.
The hui welcomes Nancy Bloomfield, program director, Therapeutic Horsemanship of Hawaii, which offers horsemanship and riding opportunities to children and adults with special needs. Therapeutic Horsemanship of Hawaii was founded in 2005 and is an all-volunteer organization.
The Hui Laulima, which translates to groups working together, is a consortium of West Hawaii’s major health and human service providers, faith-based groups, community associations, businesses, government and concerned individuals. It was formed to encourage collaboration particularly around matters affecting West Hawaii’s youth and families.

Science camps planned this summer
Pauahi Foundation is offering up to 12 full scholarships to qualifying Hawaii Island students for its Science Camps of America planned this summer.
The overnight camps consist of two 10-day sessions, giving teens entering grades 8-12 the opportunity to explore the environmental diversity found in their backyard.
Camp home base is at the Pahala Plantation Cottages in Ka‘u. Land and Sea Camp is July 1-10 and Air and Space Camp is July 11-20.
