HONOLULU (AP) — Hawaiian Airlines pilots have ratified a new five-year contract that includes immediate pay raises of 20 to 45 percent.
The Air Line Pilots Association said in a statement Friday the contract will cover 665 pilots. The size of the pay raises will depend on a pilot’s years of service and type of aircraft.
The union says 76 percent of the pilots who voted favored the agreement. The new contract takes effect on April 1.
The union’s Hawaiian Airlines Master Executive Council Vice Chairman Capt. Daniel Moore says Hawaiian’s pilots have finally achieved parity with pilots from other major carriers.
Hawaiian Chief Operating Officer Jon Snook says the contract recognizes the contributions the pilots have made to the company, while allowing the airline to continue to grow and compete.
