Lions Club
health fair Saturday
The Lions Club of Kona will hold its annual health screening event from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at Konawaena Elementary School. The event gives the South Kona community the opportunity to receive some free medical, vision, hearing and dental screening that would also include free referrals to providers should they warrant further health care. The Lions Club of Kona has found out through our 82 years of service to the community that often times families and individuals do not have extra money to get screened or get checkups.
The Lions have also recruited many other health related organizations to participate. West Hawaii Community Health Center will be providing blood pressure and blood sugar testing, as well as health insurance counseling. The diversity of other booths range from public health education, to senior assisted living.
Kona Baptist Church will offer a sports Camp on the playing field and will cook a meal for all participants.
