Words and Wine Tuesday
Marlise Laa Kea Buhler, Lynn Andrews and Robert Frutos will be featured during Kona Stories Book Shop’s Words and Wine event at 6 p.m. Tuesday in Keauhou Shopping Center.
Buhler, born in Switzerland, had a transformational near-death experience on a boat out in the Red Sea, Egypt. That was her inspiration to write her new story, “I Almost Died in Egypt,” which takes readers on Maree’s journey of her near death experience, her mystical feelings and her healing process. It talks about the beauty of being connected in the heart with all beings — people from different countries, cultures and religions and also animals like the dolphins and whales. Music and melodies, the Hawaiian mythology and its legends are woven into the story and it builds bridges between different lifestyles and lifetimes.
Andrews is the author of 19 books and workbooks chronicling her adventures into the world of spirit, the real life worlds of her native teachers and their profound wisdom of ancient spiritual worlds, including New York Times and internationally best-selling “Medicine Woman” series. Her latest book is “Coming Full Circle.”
For “Coming Full Circle,” Andrews gathered stories from the most profound teachings she has received over the years from the women of the Sisterhood of the Shield, members of an ancient shamanic society deeply embedded in native cultures and traditions all over the world.
Frutos, will be sharing a taste of his many successful books, with a focus on his Big Island guide books. Robert has written on a wide range of subjects based on his in-depth knowledge and experiences of the Big Island. His first book, “Photographing Nature in Hawaii” was published in 2004 by Island Heritage Publishing. In the years since, he has written more than 20 books.
