Imiloa Astronomy Center will host a wayfinding talk at 7 p.m Friday. Joe Genz, University of Hawaii anthropology professor, will speak on the revitalization of wave navigation in the Marshall Islands.

Gentle yoga classes offered in Kona
Hawaii County Department of Parks and Recreation is offering ongoing gentle yoga classes from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Mondays, 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Fridays, and 10 to 11 a.m. Fridays at Hale Halawai in Kailua-Kona. Chair yoga is offered 10 to 10:45 a.m. Mondays.
The series of stretches and breathing techniques relax the body and mind and help reduce stress. Classes are $5, and payment is made at the beginning of each class. Participants should bring a yoga mat, beach towel and a bottle of water. Yoga mats are available for those who do not have one.

Holualoa hosts holiday festival Saturday
Holualoa Village offers its 17th annual Music &Light Festival from dusk to 8:30 p.m. Saturday. The free event begins with the lighting of the village Christmas tree on the lawn of the old library. Santa will greet children at Holualoa Gallery, vendors will sell food and galleries will offer treats.
Music will be performed by John Keawe at the Kona Hotel, Mele Ohana and James South on the old library lawn and Gen and Yumi on the Studio 7 lanai. The Living Hope Church band will play at 6:30 and 7:30 p.m. Impromptu performances by ukulele enthusiasts at the Holualoa Ukulele Gallery are also expected.
Mamalahoa Highway will be restricted to alternating single lane one-way traffic between 5:30 and 8:30 p.m.

Santa poses for free underwater photos
The public is invited to join Santa in the pool from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Jack’s Diving Locker for free underwater photos. The images will be available for download after the event and will make fun holiday greetings from Hawaii. Children, adults and families are welcome. Participants should know how to swim.
