Mental and emotional challenges of going
blind discussed
A panel discussion on the mental and emotional challenges of going blind is set for the August meeting of the Low Vision Support Group of the West Hawaii Chapter of the National Federation of the Blind. The meeting is at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Hale Halawai.
We can all learn how to organize the pantry, label our appliances and use accessible devices to cope with the physical challenges of vision loss. The mental or emotional challenges can be as great a challenge. Blind panelists will tell their stories and lead a discussion, which addresses the mental and emotional aspects of vision loss.
The group meets monthly to share information, resources and support.
