Big Island hot rods, classics and sports cars will be cruising Saturday into Lanihau Center in Kailua-Kona to show off their prize vehicles and support the shopping center’s annual drive for school supplies for keiki in need.
The 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. free car show will feature dozens of restored and custom cars and trucks under the shade trees at the Lanihau Center parking lot nearest Henry Street. Participants and spectators are encouraged to bring school supplies like backpacks, tablets, pencils and other needed items for keiki that may not have them for the start of the school year. Monetary donations will also be accepted at the Lanihau Center tent at the show.
Lanihau Center merchants, co-sponsor Transmission Technology and other businesses will be offering prizes. Brad Freeman, the host emcee for the evening event, will provide music. Everyone making school supply donations will receive free drawing tickets for the giveaways.
