A stroke survivor support group meets from 10:30 a.m. to noon Tuesday at Life Care Center of Kona, 78-6957 Kamehameha III Road.
There is no charge to join the group for adult stroke survivors. Caregivers are welcome to introduce a stroke survivor.

American Legion meeting, trash pickup planned
The American Legion Kona Post 20 and American Legion Auxiliary meets at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 8 at Elks Club in the Old Kona Industrial Area.

Real estate and condo specialist consultations offered
The Real Estate Commission will convene its standing committee meetings at the Hawaii Island Realtors office in Hilo on Wednesday. The Laws and Rules Review Committee meeting will convene at 9:30 a.m., and will be followed by the Condominium Review Committee meeting and the Education Review Committee meeting.
Real estate licensees, government officials, members of the condominium community, educators, and interested individuals and organizations are encouraged to participate at these public meetings. Members of the Real Estate Commission and the Commission’s staff will be present. The committees invite comments and recommendations on current and future programs.
Concurrently, a real estate specialist and a condominium specialist will be available for individual meetings between 9:30 and 11:00 a.m. or by appointment.

The Hawaii Island Wedding Association invites wedding professionals to a class from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Networking Executive Center, 77 Mohouli St., Suite 101 in Hilo.
Managing Your Online Reviews will be taught by Denise Laitinen, who is a content savant, marketing consultant, social media trainer and the driving force behind DLC Hawaii Media.
The Hawaii Island Wedding Association is a group of wedding professionals joining together to network, learn, and educate for the purpose of bringing recognition to the Hawaii Island wedding industry.

Kona Traffic Safety Committee meets
Kona Traffic Safety Committee meets from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Thursday. The committee creates an opportunity for concerned members of the community to meet with county and state officials who can help mitigate traffic safety problems. Everyone will be heard. New ideas are welcome.
The committee meets the second Thursday of each month in the Community Halau, Building G of the West Hawaii Community Center. There is easy access and plenty of parking in the makai parking lot next Building G.
Low vision support group holds social hour
The Low Vision Support Group of the West Hawaii Chapter of the National Federation of the Blind hosts a meet and greet social hour at 11 a.m. Friday at Hale Halawai.
Those struggling with vision loss will learn how they cope with daily living challenges. This meeting is free and open to the public.
The group meets monthly to share information, resources and support.

Household hazardous waste collection Saturday
Household hazardous waste will be collected from 7:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Kealakehe Recycling and Transfer Station.
The event is for household generated and self-hauled waste only. Business, government agency, nonprofit and farm waste are not accepted. Electronic waste and tires will not be accepted.
Some types of acceptable household hazardous waste are automotive fluids, used batteries, fluorescent lights and pesticides and latex paint. For a list of acceptable or unacceptable refuse, visit hawaiizerowaste.org.
The next collection event at the Kealakehe transfer station will be Dec. 10.
