Aloha Quilters of Kona meets
Aloha Quilters of Kona begins meets at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Living Stones Church at Pine Trees Plaza, 73-4040 Hulikoa Drive in Kailua-Kona.
Aloha Quilters of Kona is composed of quilters working in both traditional and Hawaiian styles. The group meets informally on the third Saturday of each month to share old and new ideas and techniques and to promote the art of quilting in the community. New members, novice quilters or “old hands” are welcome.

Kiwanis picnic Sunday
Kiwanis Club of Kailua-Kona will hold a picnic at 11 a.m. Sunday in Pavilion No. 3 at Old Kona Airport Park. All visiting Kiwanis, prospective members, their families and Keyclub members and guests are invited. Missionary evangelist to speak at Kona Christian Church
Kona Christian Church will host guest speaker Terry Mize on Sunday. Mize has been a missionary evangelist for 40 years and has traveled the globe sharing the good news of Jesus Christ.
He will speak at 9:30 a.m. and at 6:30 p.m. during the evening healing service. The church is at 74-5490 Kaiwi St., Suite H in Kona’s Old Industrial Area.

Orphan, veteran offer perspectives
on Vietnam War
A free photo dialog on the perspectives of the Vietnam experience through the eyes of a war orphan and a veteran are planned at North Kohala Public Library.

Special bins at post office on Tax Day
The Kailua-Kona and Kamuela Post Offices will offer late collection of mail from specially marked collection boxes on federal Tax Day, which is Monday, to accommodate last-second filers of federal tax returns.
Tax forms with correct postage deposited by midnight in blue collection boxes or in-wall mail slots labeled with special bright orange signs indicating Tax Mail Drop will be postmarked April 18.
Taxpayers have until Monday to file their federal tax returns and pay any taxes due because April 15 falls on Emancipation Day, a holiday in the District of Columbia. All Hawaii post offices will be close at their regular times.
