LavaKids Family Fun Run
LavaKids will host its first Family Fun Run at 7 a.m. on Ane Keohokalole Highway on Nov. 21. This is a free event.
The guest speaker this month will be professional triathlete Bree Wee. She will be discussing the benefits of breath awareness, healthy mindset and positive thinking.
Registration will take place at 7 a.m. followed by a keiki dash at 7:45 a.m.. The one-mile run/walk will begin at 7:55 a.m. with the 5k run/walk right after. This event is open to both keiki and adults. Games and supervision will be provided for keiki during the 5K for parents wanting to participate.

SeaMan Canoe Race in Keauhou
Keauhou Canoe Club will sponsor the 18th Annual SeaMan Race for OC-1, OC-2, Surfski & Paddleboards on Nov. 21.
Started over 18 years ago by the late Abbott Galaher as a fund-raiser for the Food Basket (Hawaii Island Food Bank), entry fees are kept low but must include a donation of canned goods or a frozen turkey for the Food Basket.
There is an entry-level 3-mile course for recreational and junior canoe paddlers and standup paddleboards, with a more competitive 5-mile course for canoes and surf skis in various age group divisions.
Registration opens at Keauhou Canoe Club at 7:30 a.m. with all races starting at 9 a.m. at Keauhou Bay. Brunch and awards at Keauhou Canoe Club’s halau will follow the races.

Horseshoe club hosts ‘Turkey Toss’ Tournament
The Kona Horseshoe Pitcher’s Club will hold its annual “Turkey Toss’ on Nov. 21 at the Kona Palms Courts horseshoe pits behind the tennis courts at Old Kona Airport Park.
This is an open, non-sanctioned doubles tournament. 50 point game, all points count. Higher ringer percentage players will be designated as “A” players; “B” players will draw an “A” player from the hat to be his team partner. Players of all levels are welcome. Sign-in is at 7:30 a.m., and play starts at 8 a.m. The entry fee is $20 per player. Prizes include hams, turkeys, bags of rice, and much more. There will be a banquet to follow. Sign up at the Palm Courts from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursdays. Deadline for entries is Saturday Nov. 14th.

11th annual Thanksgiving Day Wobble Gobble Run/Walk and Canned Food Drive
The public is invited to participate in the 11th annual Walua Road “Wobble Gobble” fun run and walk hosted by Big Island Running Company on Thanksgiving Day (Nov. 26) at 8 a.m.
The event starts at the Walua Road trailhead on Lako Street just mauka of the Chevron Gas station. Participants may choose to run or walk a 1-mile, 3.5 mile or 6.4 mile course. This is a free event, but it is suggested that all participants donate two cans of food to be donated to the Hawaii Food Bank. Volunteer help and post race refreshment donations are also welcome. West Hawaii Little League registration
West Hawaii Little League will hold registration for the 2016 season on the following date:
-Nov. 21 at Ho’oko Park Pavillion in Waikoloa, with a clinic

Kohala youth sports registration
Boys basetball registration for ages 9-14 will be held on Dec. 7 and Dec. 9 at 4-5 p.m. at Hisaoka Gym. Practice will be in late December and early January, with games running through early March. Registration includes uniform.
T-Ball/pitchball for ages 5-8 registration will be held at the same time. Practice will be in late December and early January, with games running through early March at Kamehameha Park.

Beanie Heen Paddle Race
The Beanie Heen Paddle Race will be held on Nov. 28 at Surpark Hale in Kawaihae. OC-1, OC-2, SUP, 3-man, 4-man, relay races will be offered. Registration is at 7 a.m. There will also be food, prizes, a raffle and music. The event celebrates the life of Beanie Heen — a paddler, coach, father and friend.

Tickets on a sale now for Fed Cup
The USTA today announced that tickets for the 2016 Fed Cup by BNP Paribas World Group II First Round between the United States and Poland will go on sale to the general public on Dec. 11, at 10 a.m. An exclusive pre-sale for USTA members will take place on Dec. 9-10.
The best-of-five match series will be played at Holua Tennis Center at Holua Resort on Feb. 6-7. Hawaii will be playing host to Fed Cup for the first time, giving fans a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see this high level of tennis in the state.
From Dec. 11, through Jan. 7, only two-day ticket packages will be sold at prices ranging from $40 to $190 ($20 to $95 per day), representing the greatest initial ticket value. Beginning on Jan. 8, at 10 a.m. HST, two-day packages will no longer be available. Fans will then have access to single-day tickets for Saturday or Sunday with prices ranging from $25 to $100 per day. Pending availability, walk-up tickets will be available at the Holua Tennis Center on the match days only, ranging from $35 to $110 per day.

Play begins on Saturday, Feb. 6, at 11 a.m., with two singles matches. On Sunday, play starts at 10 a.m. with two reverse singles matches and the doubles match. A revised schedule for Sunday may take place if a team clinches in the third or fourth match.
Pro Bowl tickets on sale
The NFL’s All-Stars will be on display at the 2016 Pro Bowl and fans can join them.
Tickets to the 2016 Pro Bowl, slated for Jan. 31 are now on sale through ProBowl.com, the NFL announced on Monday. Fans may also purchase individual game tickets through Ticketmaster by calling 1-800-745-3000. Tickets start as low as $30.

The Waimea Ocaean Film Festival takes place in Waimea, Mauna Kea Resort and Fairmont Orchid January 1-4 and Four Seasons Resort Hualalai January 5-8.
