Motorists commuting in the Kailua Village area should plan for delays today during this evening’s Kona Coffee Cultural Festival Lantern Parade.
Alii Drive will be closed between Kailua Pier and Hualalai Road from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Parking on Alii Drive will not be permitted from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., according to festival organizers.
The lantern procession starts at the Hale Halawai county pavilion in Kailua Village, winding down Alii Drive and ending at Kailua Pier. The parade will culminate with a floating lantern ceremony at Kamakahonu Bay.
