Burger King has confirmed it plans to reopen later this year in the location currently being vacated by Wendy’s on Palani Road in the Kona Coast Shopping Center.
The news follows crews on Monday removing the building’s exterior Wendy’s signage. Representatives for Wendy’s have yet to respond to West Hawaii Today.

Burger King closed the doors of its restaurant at the intersection of Palani Road and Kopiko Street on Oct. 24. The company told West Hawaii Today shortly thereafter it planned to reopen in Kailua-Kona and was actively pursuing other locations.
