Police have located a 31-year-old Puna man wanted for questioning in connection with an assault on Halloween night.
Kallen Imade of Mountain View turned himself in to police at the South Hilo station, police said. He was arrested on suspicion of first-degree assault and is being held at the police cellblock while detectives from the Area I Criminal Investigations Section continue the investigation.
At 11:30 p.m. Saturday, South Hilo Patrol officers responded to a report of an unconscious man in a parking lot on the 100 block of Hema Street. Witnesses reported that the victim had been involved in an affray with another man and that the other man had left the area.
The victim, a 49-year-old Hilo man, was taken to Hilo Medical Center with a head injury and later transferred to The Queen’s Medical Center on Oahu, where he remains in critical condition, according to police.
