One of the two men who failed to report for a check-in Thursday evening in Kailua-Kona was arrested.
Inmates Dyson Kepano and Donald Soares failed to report to the Kona extended furlough house for their scheduled check-in.
Kepano, 23, was arrested about 1 p.m. by deputies in the Kona area, law enforcement said.
Inmates in the extended furlough program live and work outside of the facility but must check in at various times throughout the month. He is serving time for burglary, theft and forgery. His next parole hearing was scheduled for August.
Officials say second-degree escape is expected to be added to the charges.
Soares, 28, is classified as community custody. He is 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs 135 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. Soares is serving time for burglary and theft. His next parole hearing was scheduled for November.
Officials say second-degree escape is also expected to be added to the charges.
