Maui Polo Club’s Jaclyn Schmitt tries to control the ball Sunday while Jed Ednie, center, and Kenny Shamel of Mauna Kea Polo Club pursue during Mauna Kea’s 10-4 victory in the Manoa Cup in Makawao, Maui. Jason Lau also competed for Mauna Kea, which took on an all-wahine team in a tournament that honors George Manoa Sr.
Mauna Kea holds its season on Sundays in the fall at Waikii Ranch. The club will hold a membership meeting at noon July 18 for anyone interested in the sport. Practices start in September and the season runs from Oct. 4 through Dec. 13. For more information, email maunakeapoloclub@gmail.com.
