Invited are all brain injury, stroke or other neuro-trauma survivors, their families and caregivers, interested professionals and the public. To ask questions about the support group meeting, contact Hawaiian Rehab at 329-0591 or Karen Klemme at 328-9498.
VASH names executive director
The Visitor Aloha Society of Hawaii on Hawaii Island has chosen Karen Rose as its new executive director. Rose will fill the vacancy of Stephanie Donoho, who served as interim director during the selection process. The mission of VASH is to share the aloha spirit with visitors affected by adversity.
Rose’s resume includes more than 25 years of experience in human services, including program management, fundraising and social media marketing in the nonprofit sector. She completed her graduate work at California State University and spent much of her time advocating for victims of crime, people with disabilities, the elderly and at-risk youth. Rose spent five years as an adjunct professor of anthropology and sociology at Southwest Colorado Community College before moving to Kona.
