An Ocean View man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in South Kona early Thursday morning.
An Ocean View man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in South Kona early Thursday morning.
According to police, Kekoa Duguran, 32 of Ocean View was arrested shortly after midnight Thursday related to a July 18 report of a stabbing in South Kona.
A South Kona man was taken to the hospital by bystanders on Tuesday with stab wounds where police took a statement indicating Duguran was the perpetrator.
The victim said he was not previously acquainted with the suspect, but Duguran was doing construction work for him that day.
The victim subsequently was driving with Duguran in the back seat when an argument ensued. According to the victim’s statement, the suspect took out a knife and started slashing him in the neck area. The victim then jumped into the back seat and wrestled the knife away from Duguran, who fled the vehicle on foot.
After conferring with the Hawaii county prosecutor’s office, Detectives chargedDuguran with second-degree attempted murder, first-degree terroristic threatening, and second-degree burglary.
Duguran’a total bail was set at $100,000.
He is currently being held at the Kealakehe police station, pending his initial court appearance on Monday morning.
