Police officers and community recently joined efforts Jan. 28 to cleanup a stretch of Kona roadway.
Hawaii Police Department Community Policing Officers Aaron Yamanaka and Leonard Warren were joined by USA National Miss Hawaii Teen Diamon Kawaauhae and members of the community to pick up trash along Kahilihili Street off Makako Bay Drive.
The effort was part of a community service project being conducted by Kawaauhae that she calls “Live life in 3D, delete debris.”
A total of 18 bags of trash were collected and taken to the Kealakehe Transfer Station for disposal.
