The Hawaii Department of Public Safety reports extended furlough inmate John Towle failed to check in Thursday at the Kona Furlough Hose.
Towle, 44, is serving time for methamphetamine trafficking, according to the department. His next parole hearing was scheduled for June. Towle is 6 feet tall and weighs 155 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes.
Towle was supposed to check in at the house at noon, the department said. Officials are now working with the Hawaii Police Department to issue a warrant for not abiding by the conditions set forth in his extended furlough plan.
Inmates in the extended furlough program live and work outside of the facility but must check in at various times.
The public should call police at 9-1-1 if Towle is seen, according to the department.
