Jobie Genegabus
Jobie Kapena Genegabus, 31, of Kailua-Kona, died July 29, 2021, at Kona Community Hospital. Born Feb. 22, 1990, in Kealakekua, he was a self-employed fisherman.
Private services will be held at a later date.
He is survived by companion, Crystal Aio; sons, Kikeona Genegabus-Kahumoku and Kapena Genegabus-Kahumoku; daughters, Lovina Genegabus-Kahumoku and Kaleihua Genegabus-Kahumoku; brother, Randy (Kaui) Genegabus, all of Kailua-Kona; sister, Amber (Arthur) Galvin of Mountain View; maternal grandmother, Kalei Kahumoku of Kailua-Kona; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Bliss Nakayama
Bliss Kazumi Nakayama, 61, of Hilo, died Aug. 20, 2021, at Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center. Born Sept. 21, 1959, in Hilo, he was a sales consultant for Big Island Toyota, had also worked at KTA Super Stores Puainako, the former Sure Save Keaau and Hilo Audio, lifetime musician, founding member of The Red Table and member of Hawaii Taishin Kyokai.
Friends may call from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Aug. 28 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for a public visitation. A private service follows. Family requests casual attire be worn.
He is survived by wife, Sung Ja Nakayama of Hilo; mother, Miyoko Nakayama of Hilo; brother, Peter (Pat Blake) Nakayama of Hilo; sisters, Ellen (George) Mabuni of California, Doris (Gary) Iwaoka of Hilo, and Naomi (Melvin) Matsumoto of Honolulu; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Alfred Branco Jr.
Alfred Harold Branco Jr., 63, Laupahoehoe, died Aug. 12, 2021, at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born Dec. 8, 1957, in Honokaa, he worked for the State Highway Division.

He is survived by sisters, Dawn Asato of Hilo, Kahu Alvira (Laurence) Cacabelos of Laupahoehoe and Geraldine (Peter) Ebaniz of Kona; brother, Dwayne Branco of Laupahoehoe; numerous nephews and nieces; and one great-grandnephew.

Bonnie Bissen
Bonnie Kam Lin Bissen, 55, of Hilo, died July 30, 2021, in Honolulu. Born in Hilo, she was a contract security supervisor at Port of Hilo for American Guard Services Inc. and Jan Guard Hawaii Inc.

She is survived by husband, Edward Martin Jr. of Hilo; sons, Brandon (Melissa) Respicio, Ikaika Martin and Pomaika‘i Martin of Hilo; daughter, Kau‘i (Kelsen Kataoka) Respicio of Hilo; mother, Carol Baclig Bissen of Hilo; siblings, Linda (Brian) Lee of O’ahu and Darryl (Roxann Hao) Bissen of Kailua-Kona; eight grandchildren; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

William Chu Jr.
William “Ungie” Ung Chu Jr., 81, of Hilo, died Aug. 13, 2021, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he retired from Hawaiian Telephone Company and was a member of Hawaiian Bowling and Grabers Horseshoe Club. He was also a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo and Malia Puka O Kalani Catholic Church in Keaukaha.
Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. to noon Aug. 31 for a drive-through visitation at Dodo Mortuary Upper Carport in Hilo; graveside committal service and burial to follow at 1 p.m. at Alae Cemetery. Casual attire.
He is survived by wife, Faith Chu of Hilo; son, William (Lynnanne) Chu III of Hilo; daughter, Lorelei Chu-Dante of Las Vegas; brothers, Albert (Marie) Kelson and Ronald Chu, all of Hilo, and Randy Chu of Washington; sister, Gwen Huston of Hilo; and nine grandchildren.
