Statewide, 48 new cases were reported by the Department of Health with 28 of those cases on Oahu, six in Maui County and none on Kauai. Three cases were residents diagnosed out of state. Since the end of last February, 36,124 people have tested positive for COVID-19 across Hawaii.
Over the past two weeks, the Big Island has reported 70 cases, or an average of 6.4 cases per day.
The Big Island had a 1.4% positive rate, over the state’s 0.8% positivity rate on Saturday.
Also Saturday, a total of 48 patients with the virus were in Hawaii hospitals with three reported on the Big Island.
One new coronavirus-related death was reported on Saturday on Oahu. Of the 499 coronavirus-related deaths confirmed and reported by the state to date, 387 were on Oahu, 54 were on Maui, 53 were on the Big Island and two on Kauai. Three deaths were among residents outside the state.
