Surfer dies after struggling at Oahu beach

HONOLULU — Honolulu authorities say a 56-year-old surfer has died after struggling at an Oahu beach.

Honolulu television station KITV says Roy Digma of Ewa Beach was brought to shore by witnesses after getting into trouble at Kewalo basin Wednesday.

Authorities say Digma was taken to a hospital, where he died.

Authorities say the cause of death is under investigation.
