The music duo Bad Papa on Thursday released its new digital album “Beyond The Surface.”
“Beyond The Surface” is a fitting title for the 10-song 2021 CD release from the “Bad Papa” music duo. Prepare to embark on an amazing musical journey intended to take you to a deeper place “Beyond The Surface.”
Bob Bojorquez and Jammin Joe Buck have been writing and producing original music together for over five years, and the talented duo definitely did not hold anything back on this project. Featuring multiple instruments and genres such as world, Hawaiian, Latin, reggae and island-style music creations utilizing some of Bojorquez’s favorite Hawaiian slack-key guitar tunings. Instrumentation includes acoustic and electric guitars, bass, drums, ukulele, horns and vocals.
The digital album was recorded, produced and engineered by Buck and Bojorquez at Bad Papa Recording Studios in Waikoloa Village.
Bojorquez and Buck met in May 2015 when Buck was purchasing a home and discovered his Realtor, Bojorquez, was also a musician. They decided to sit down with their guitars to play a couple of tunes. Halfway through that first song, they both realized that they were meant to play music together. They quickly joined forces to become the “Bad Papa” music duo. With four full-length CDs and three single releases to date, they have another full-length CD in the works right now that will be released later this year.
Buck is a blind kanaka music recording artist, songwriter, producer and performer. He plays guitar, bass, drums, ukuleles, horns and vocals, and performs many different music styles as well. Bojorquez has been playing guitar and writing music for over 50 years.
