LAS VEGAS — U.S. marshals say a 48-year-old fugitive sought in Honolulu in a home contractor theft case has been arrested in Las Vegas.
The marshal service identified Alexander Nebre as a “most wanted” fugitive in Hawaii, and said he was arrested Tuesday on felony warrants issued after he failed to appear for a Jan. 15 trial readiness hearing in Honolulu.
Officials in Honolulu say Nebre is accused of identifying himself as a licensed contractor but failing from 2012 to 2014 to complete three home contracting jobs.
Deputy Marshal Melinda Kormos says members of a joint local and federal task force found Nebre a few blocks west of the Las Vegas Strip.
Records show Nebre is being held at the Clark County jail pending an extradition hearing on Thursday.
