Cheryl Balbirona Midel, 67, of Keaau, died Nov. 5, 2020 at her residence. Born Jan. 12, 1953, in Laupahoehoe, she was a homemaker, babysitter and former Pahoa High School bowling coach.

Mabel Pacheco
Mabel Catherine Pacheco, 90, of Hilo, died Nov. 12, 2020, at Hawaii Care Choice Pohai Malama Facility in Hilo. Born Jan. 6, 1930, in Hilo, she worked at St. Joseph Elementary School as a PE teacher, front office secretary, security supervisor and custodial supervisor from 1948-2018, was the first woman inducted into the Big Island Sports Hall of Fame in 2000, and decorated St. Joseph Church and the St. Joseph School chapel for Christmas, Easter and other holidays.
Private services held. Mass will be held at a later date.
She is survived by two sisters-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Orlando Corrales
Orlando Miguel Corrales, 83, of Keaau, died Nov. 1, 2020 at his residence. Born April 27, 1937, in Dingras, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, he was a former worker of Mauna Loa Mac Nut Factory and an ambulance driver in the Philippines and was a member of The Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Keaau.

He is survived by wife, Victoria Corrales of Keaau; son, Danilo (Maile) Corrales of Hilo; sister, Luz Alipio of Hilo; four grandchildren; and three-great-grandchildren.

Anthony Naalii Kealoha, 75, of Kohala, died Nov. 9, 2020, at his residence. He was born on Oahu.

John Richard “Dick” Weddle, 76, of Keaau, died on Nov. 12, 2020, at his residence. Born in South Bend, IN, he was a postal carrier, worked many years at the family’s Kai Store, served in the U.S. Army, and coached kids soccer and baseball.

Gregory Hymes Lathan, 61, of Waikoloa died November 16, 2020 in Waikoloa. He was born Sept. 20, 1959, in Gastonia, N.C. Gregory served our country in the Navy and worked as a pilot captain for Delta Airlines.

Carol Ann Pucong, 66, of Kaawaloa, died Nov. 19, 2020 at Hospice of Kona’s Nakamaru Hale. Born Feb. 3, 1954, in Kealakekua, she was an office manager for Edward Jones Investment Co. and a retired coffee farmer.

Michael Rendich
Michael John Rendich, 70, of Kailua-Kona, died Oct. 12, 2020, in Kailua-Kona. Born Nov. 9, 1949, he was a fishing guide and a member of Utah’s Park City West Ski Patrol and Kai Opua Canoe Club.
Memorial service with the Kai Opua Canoe Club will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the canoe club.
