Make sure you vote
Data compiled by the U.S. Elections Project show that around 138 million Americans voted in the 2016 presidential election. This number was approximately 58.1% of the Voter Eligible Population (VEP). I, for one, found it appalling that so many people felt that it was not worth their while to get out and vote. What is even more shocking is the fact that only 42.3% of the Voter Eligible Population of Hawaii felt it worth their while to exercise this right. When compared to the other states, we came in last. Why?
We, the people of Hawaii, need to make a concerted effort in the next few weeks to change that. I’m of the belief that voting gives you the right to voice an opinion, either pro or con, on the way our country is run; hopefully, many of you feel the same. If so, make sure you vote in the 2020 election. If you voted in 2016 and were happy with the election’s outcome, that’s great. Make sure you vote in the 2020 election. If you voted in 2016 and were not happy with that outcome, that’s great. Make sure you vote in the 2020 election.
All too often, people think that there is no use in voting as their vote will not count anyway. To be honest, I don’t know the answer; however, I do know that if you don’t vote, your thoughts are not going to be heard.
Let’s all make a concerted effort to move Hawaii from the last state in these great United States in VEP to the state having the highest percentage of Voter Eligible Population. Make your voice known, make sure you vote.

Aloha spirit at its best
On Sunday, I was at the north side of Honokohau Harbor with my friends for our Sunday soak and sun time. When I was walking to the entrance to the water there, which now is very uneven and rocky, I fell. As I was wondering how I would get up, a very nice young man was there and picked me up and got me on my feet again. I was not hurt bad, only my pride. I just want to say thanks to him. So nice to see the aloha spirit at its best.

Conservatives, Republicans, any person who is tired of having Twitter and Facebook lead them around by the nose. Tired of having to frame your thoughts to satisfy them? Tell Twitter and Facebook to go to hell!
Do you not understand that it is you who are capable of leading them around by nose. Stop being a limp noodle and en masse, stop subscribing to them. They are not able to survive without you. Give them some demands to be met.
And, if none of that works, there is still the phone, face-to-face, email, letters, surely other things too.
It is incomprehensible that millions of Americans let these people tell them what they can think, what they can say and how they can say it.
