Candonino Agusen Sr.
Candonino “Dino” Galang Agusen Sr., 52, of Captain Cook, died June 9, 2020 at Napoopoo. Born March 21, 1968 in Elefante, Ilocos Sur, Philippine, he was a cook at Sheraton Kona Resort who had also worked at Four Seasons Resort Hualalai and Keauhou Beach Hotel.
He is survived by wife, Carrie Agusen of Captain Cook; sons, Candonino (Terry) Agusen Jr. Fujishige-Basolo of Palm Springs, CA, Rieno Agusen and Riedin Agusen of Captain Cook; brother, Diosdado (cherry) Ang-aoy of Elefante, Ilocos Sur, Philippine; sisters, Nilda Ang-oay (Fred) Arola of Elefante, Ilocos Sur, Philippine, Nenita Agusen of Alaska, Sonyflor (Robert) Eswagen Vevincio of Santa Ana, CA; hanai brother Joel (Lanie) Agusen; hanai sisters, Joy (Danny) Agusen and Janet Agusen of San Diego; hanai mother, Elsie Galang Agusen of Naguimba, Banayoyo, Ilocos Sur, Philippine; numerous uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Ronald Daog Sr.
Ronald “Ron” Daog Sr., 76, of Kailua-Kona, died July 15, 2020 at Kona Community Hospital. Born Feb. 3, 1944, in Hilo, he was a retired truck driver for Cantor Brother Trucking Co., Captain Cook Building Supply, Tamashiro Trucking, Mauna Kea Express, Pacific Trans and a bus driver for Jack’s and Grayline Tour companies and a CDL instructor for Eda Hinchcliff.
Services will be held at a later date.
He is survived by wife, Brenda Daog of Kailua-Kona; sons, Ronald (Shae) Daog Jr. of Las Vegas and Greg (Mahina) Daog and Donovan (Vilma) Daog of Kailua-Kona; daughters, Lisa (Alvin) Inouye of Kona, and Joyce (Nathan) Pajimola of Kailua-Kona; brothers, Wilfred (Yvonne) Magallanes, Arthur (Barbara) Magallanes, Kenneth (Yvonne) Magallanes, Gordon (Merlyn) Magallanes, all of Oahu; sisters, Joyce Hollinger of Las Vegas, Donna Bolosan and Sarah Shirley of Oahu, and Shirley (Johnny) Ford of Florida; one aunt; 18 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Aurora Jean King, 80, of Hawaii, died July 31, 2020 at Kona Community Hospital. Born Sept. 19, 1939, in Dallas, Texas, she was the owner an oil painter, writer and owner of Cliff Johns Gallery.

She is survived by son, Michael Bellows of Whittier, CA; daughter, Valerie (James) Cash of Alabama; sister, Betty Gerstner of Captain Cook; seven grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Kozo Hirayama
Kozo Hirayama, 92, of Hilo, died July 26, 2020 at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home in Hilo. Born Jan. 29, 1928, in Ola’a, he was retired from Love’s Bakery, U.S. Army veteran and member of Hilo Meishoin, Toho No Hikari (Church of World Messianity) and Hustlers, 1 3, 7 11 and Japanese Golf Clubs.
Private services were held. Family requests no monetary gifts or flowers.
He is survived by wife, Ruth Hirayama of Hilo; son, Clyde (Audrey) Hirayama of Hilo; daughters, Myra (Keith) Kuboyama of Honolulu, Clara (Russell) Morita of Hilo, Sandra (Howard) Hamada of Honolulu; brothers, Masa Hirayama of Honolulu, Richard Hirayama of Hilo; sisters, Hisae (Richard) Ibara of Honolulu, Naomi Shiigi of Hilo; 10 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Mauricia “Morrie” Leorin Chantrakul, 87, of Pahala, died July 10, 2020 at home. Born Sept. 22, 1932 in Kona, she was a retired hand harvester for Ka’u Agribusiness and a member of Pahala Holy Rosary Catholic Church.

She is survived by husband, Prasert Chantrakul of Pahala; daughters, Carmen (Harold) Hartley of Oregon and Cecilia (Newton) Ito of Pahala; son, Benjamin (Jeanette) Castillo of Pahala; brother, Salvador Leorin of Naalehu; sisters, Ramona Ponce of Pahala, Patricia Salmo of Naalehu and Ceasaria Salmo of Naalehu; nine grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Masako Tanabe, 101, of Keaau, died Aug. 5, 2020 at home. Born Jan. 9, 1919, in Kurtistown, she was a homemaker, anthurium grower and member of Puna Covenant Church.

Naves Santiago Jr., 85 of Kailua-Kona, died Aug. 6, 2020. Born Dec. 25, 1934 in Maui, he was a State of Hawaii insurance investigator.

Born May 25, 1936, in Hilo, she was a retired salesclerk at ABC Store and worked at Ben Franklin Store, Kona Surf Resort and Gift Shop, Ace Hardware, Beneficial Finance Company, and a U.S. Army veteran.
