Liberato Alonzo
Liberato Viernes Alonzo, 92 of Keaau, died Nov. 20, 2019 at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born on Dec. 20, 1926, in Bulag Bantay, Ilocos Sur, Philippines, he was a factory worker for Papaya Pacific Paradise in Keaau, a retired janitor and a member of the Keaau Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
Friends may call 5-7 p.m. Dec. 17 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. An all night vigil to follow after 9 p.m. at the family residence at 9 1/2 mile Camp in Keaau. Friends may call again 9-9:30 a.m. Dec. 18 at the Keaau Holy Rosary Catholic Church for a 9:30 a.m. celebration of Mass. Casual attire. Burial at Homelani Memorial Park, Ilima Section.
He is survived by wife, Maria Alonzo of Keaau; sons, Antonio (Filomena) Alonzo, Benido (Elvie) Alonzo and Pepe (Hazel) Alonzo of Kurtistown, Julio Alonzo of Sacramento, Calif.; daughters, Imelda (Orly) Fernando of Kurtistown, Mila Gabi of Hong Kong, Agustina Gabi and Lani (Paul) Azevedo, Celia (Elmer) Longboy of Paradise Park, Delia (Owen) Nakano of Hilo; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mary Tio
Mary Malia Kealoha Tio, 93, of Hilo, died at Life Care Center of Hilo on Dec. 10, 2019. Born on June 5, 1926 in Kalapana, she was a housekeeper at the Hilo Seaside Hotel, and Makaha Inn Hotel in Honolulu, HI.

Mary was survived by daughter, Momilani (Michael) Epstein; sons Vincent (Mary) Tio, Dennis Tio, Emelio (Mary) Tio; 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins.
