Jacklyn Miyasaki
Jacklyn Ann Miyasaki, 71, of Hilo died Aug. 3, 2018, at Hawaii Care Choices. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, she was a homemaker.
Friends may call 4–5 p.m. Aug. 24 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel; memorial service at 5 p.m. Casual attire.
She is survived by husband, Edwin Miyasaki of Hilo; son, Richard (Annamarie) Miyasaki of San Jose, California; daughter, Debbie (John) Braasch of Salinas, California; sister, Barbara Osentowski of Livermore, California; a sister-in-law, one grandson, numerous nieces &nephews.

Linda Derasin
Linda Ann Derasin, 70, of Pahoa, died on Aug. 5, 2018, at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home. She was born on March 2, 1948, in Paia, Maui. Visitation will be held 9-10:30 a.m. on Aug. 24 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel, Hilo; prayer service at 10:30 a.m.; burial to follow at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Casual attire.
She is survived by husband, Clarence “Choppy” Derasin of Pahoa; sons, Douglas (Jetta) Derasin of Phoenix, Arizona, Radford (Valerie) Derasin of Pahoa, Christopher Derasin of Pahoa and Craig Derasin of Pahoa; daughter, Mona Lisa (Will) Tolentino of Utah; brothers, Anthony Louis of Maui, James (Janet) Louis of Maui and Robert Louis of Maui; sister, Rosemarie Saito of Maui; nine grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Clyde Malani
Clyde K. Malani, 56 of Hilo, died July 30, 2018, at Hilo Medical Center. Born on Jan. 8, 1962, in Hilo, he was a heavy equipment operator and driver for Food Basket and a member of Laupahoehoe Congregational Church.
Friends may call from 9-10 a.m. Aug. 25 at Ballard Family Mortuary-Hilo for a 10 a.m. service. Burial to follow at Homelani Cemetery at noon.
He is survived by parents, Leilani and Clement Malani Sr. of Hilo; hanai sons, Timothy Agliam, Nathan Agliam, Tyson (Hana) Agliam of Hilo; brother, Clement (Gina) Malani Jr. of Hilo; sister, Leihua (Calvin) Malani of Hilo, Catherine (Todd) Kaide of Hilo, Carol Malani of Hilo; grandnephew; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Miles Fry
Miles Stephen Fry, 87, of Kailua-Kona, died Aug. 5 after a brief illness. Born June 25, 1931, in Iola, Kan., he was a U.S. Navy pilot and Korean War veteran who flew F4U Corsairs off the carrier USS Boxer. In 1959, Miles moved to Honolulu, where he lived until 1984, when he settled in Kona. He truly loved Hawaii and designing model planes. He was a charter member of Kona Flying Club.
A celebration of life will be held 9 a.m. Aug. 25 at Kona Old Airport, north end beach pavilion. Family requests casual attire be worn. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name may be made to the Polynesian Voyaging Society or a charity of choice.
He is survived by wife, Felicia Fry of Kailua-Kona; sister, Janice Kupper; niece, Drew Tomasyan; nephew, Rick Hilton all of California; hanai son, Deighton (Tisa) Emmonds of Waimea.

Rowland Melim
Rowland Harry Alapaki Melim, 72, of Hilo died Aug. 1, 2018, at his residence. Born in Honolulu, he was a retired cable splicer for the former Verizon Company and a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

Nikolai Martins
Nikolai Keakaokalani Martins, 4 months and 22 days, of Hilo, died July 1, 2018, at Hilo Medical Center. He was born on Feb. 9, 2018, in Hilo.
A celebration of life will be held from 10:30 a.m. till pau Aug. 25 at Onekahakaha Beach Park.
He is survived by mother, Makana Kapika; father, Manuel Martins, V; siblings, Trust Hayashi and Legacy Martins; maternal grandparents, Terry and Lordel Kapika; paternal grandparents, Rose Majamay and Manuel Martins, IV; numerous aunties, uncles and cousins.

Yoshio Matsuzaki
Yoshio Matsuzaki, 91, of Papaikou, died Aug. 3, 2018, at a care home. Born in Kalaoa, Papaikou, he was a retired mechanic for I. Kitagawa, U.S. Army Korean War veteran and member of Hilo Hooganji Mission.
Private services were held. Family requests no monetary gifts for flowers.
He is survived by brothers, Tatsuo (Haruko) Matsuzaki of Hilo, Mamoru Matsuzaki of Reno, Nev.; sister, Sueko (Tsutomu) Omori of Papaikou; numerous nieces and nephews.

Jayson Fujimoto
Jayson Kiyoshi Fujimoto, 57, of Paauilo, died July 27, 2018, at his residence. Born in Honokaa, he was a retired golf maintenance mechanic for the Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel and proprietor of the former Fujimoto Super Service in Honokaa.

Debra Ellen Fitzgerald, 65, of Mountain View, died Aug. 13, 2018, at the Hilo Medical Center. She was born in Honolulu.

Ralph Soderberg, Jr.
Ralph Alfred Soderberg, Jr., 71, of Kailua-Kona, died Aug. 17, 2018, at Nakamaru Hale in Holualoa. Born May 14, 1947, in Cherry Point, N.C., he was a retired middle school teacher, a senior water aerobics instructor, past president of West Hawaii Wood Turners Association and co-founder of West Hawaii Youth Soccer Organization.
A celebration of life will be held 9 a.m. Aug. 25 at Old Kona Airport Beach, north end. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Hospice of Kona, P.O. Box 4130, Kailua-Kona, HI 96745.

Mr. Kona Hutch Paogofie, 39, of Kailua-Kona, died Aug. 11, 2018, at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Kealakekua on March 19, 1979, he was a warehouseman for Dependable Hawaiian Express (DHX) and a limo driver for Resort Limousines.
Visitation will be held at 4 p.m. Aug. 25 at the Old Airport’s main field for a 6 p.m. celebration of life.

Robert McNutt
Mr. Robert S. “Bob” McNutt, 65, of Ocean View, died Aug. 13, 2018, at his residence. Born in DeSmet, S.D., on June 8, 1953, he was a mechanic, crane operator. He was a commercial fisherman, drag racer, motorcycle and dirt bike racer.
Celebration of life will be held at a later date.
He is survived by his sons, Bobby Lasiter, Ian McNutt of Renton, Wash., Justin McNutt of Puyallup, Wash.; daughter, Brady McNutt of Tacoma, Wash.; sisters, Linda Clyde of Puyallup, Wash., and Mary Shields of Ocean View; brother, William McNutt of Renton, Wash.; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

Clayton Martin
Mr. Clayton Thomas Martin, 68, of Ocean View, died July 4, 2018, at the Kona Community Hospital. Born in Kealakekua on June 1, 1950, he was a freelance wood carver. He was a security officer at Konawaena High School, an inspector for the DLNR, did carpentry work and a motorcycle rider.
Visitation will be held at 8 a.m. Sept. 1, 2018, at Puka’ana Congregational Church in Kealia. Memorial service will start at 9:30 a.m.
He is survived by his brothers, Harvey (Kamaile Tanaka) Martin of Kealakekua and Larry Hayakawa of Oakland; hanai brother, John (Madeline) Naihe of Ocean View; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Bradley Wood-Ferren
Mr. Bradley Anson Wood-Ferren, 56, of Kailua-Kona, died Aug. 3, 2018, at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Honolulu on Nov. 30, 1961, he owner of a land clearing business.
Visitation will be held at 12:30 p.m. Aug. 27 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Kailua-Kona; memorial service at 1:30 p.m. A gathering will follow at the family’s residence. A paddle out will take place at 9 a.m. on Aug. 28 at Kamakahonu Beach, Kailua Pier.
He is survived by a son and daughter; mother, Annie; brother, Greg; sisters, Richann and Noelani; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Gregorio Santos
Gregorio Ramirez Santos, 95, of Hilo, died Aug. 12, 2018, at home. Born on March 12, 1923, in the Lingayen, Pangasinan, Philippines, he was a retired laborer/warehouseman for the former Hilo Coast Processing Company formerly known as Pepeekeo Sugar Company. He also was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo.
Friends may call 6-7 p.m. Sept. 1 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel for a 7 p.m prayer service. Casual attire. Cremation at Dodo Mortuary Crematory.
