Hawaiian Hotels and Resorts contributed more than $28,000 to the 2018 Visitor Industry Charity Walk, a statewide annual event that engages members of Hawaii’s visitor industry to raise money for Hawaii’s charities. A record number of staff and their families from HHR’s flagship properties, Royal Lahaina Resort and Royal Kona Resort, participated in the walk held May 12.
“Our family-owned business was built on a foundation of values that includes giving back to our community,” said Gary Hogen, CEO of HHR. “Our employees are our greatest assets and we are grateful for their significant effort and overwhelming support of this annual event.”
Over the past 10 years, Royal Lahaina Resort and Royal Kona Resort employees have collectively raised more than $250,000 in support of the Visitor Industry Charity Walk. In 2018, the charity walk celebrated its 40th year, raising more than $2.5 million statewide to benefit local charities in Hawaii.
