As the second installment of the new Hawaii Preparatory Academy (HPA) Outdoor Program’s community outreach workshop series, HPA is partnering with the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) to offer a two-and-a-half-day Wilderness First Aid (WFA) course at the school May 9-11.
As the second installment of the new Hawaii Preparatory Academy (HPA) Outdoor Program’s community outreach workshop series, HPA is partnering with the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) to offer a two-and-a-half-day Wilderness First Aid (WFA) course at the school May 9-11.
This course is the industry standard for professional guides, trip leaders, search and rescue team members, outdoor recreationists and international travelers. The curriculum covers prevention, early recognition and treatment of medical emergencies in the backcountry or in remote settings with delayed access to emergency services as well as leadership, risk management and decision making.
